The Festival of SUKKOT, known in English as the Festival of Tabernacles is a week-long celebration starting on the eve of October 2nd and is concluded by the 8th Day known in Hebrew as Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah (Rejoicing the Torah) in October 10th (October 11th). God commanded the children of Israel to build up booths, which is the temporary dwellings during this period to remind us of our humble beginnings in the wilderness.
Prophetically it is celebrated in the anticipation of when the King Messiah will come again to establish His Kingdom from Jerusalem, all Israel, and to the whole world. All nations will come to worship Him and celebrate Sukkot as it is written in Zechariah 14:16-21. 'It is followed by the New Beginning of the 8th Day; where it says in: Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
