The Festival of Rosh Hashanah or Yom Teruah, translated in the English Bible as a Memorial of Blowing of Trumpets [Leviticus 23:23 - 25] will commence on the eve of September 18th this year.
The Sages assigned this as the New Year, hence the Name Rosh Hashanah. Traditional is considered the day when Adam was created and as the completion of the whole creation of the world.
This Festival points to the regathering of the dispersed of Israel from the 4 corners of the earth as recorded in Isaiah 11:11 -12, and the coming back of Yeshua (Jesus) as it is written in First Thessalonians chapter 4:16-18 and Matthew 24:31. It is for this reason that the Shofars; the ram's horns are blown in the Synagogues. This is the time of reconciling with others and returning to GOD in repentance, and rededication to the LORD our GOD and His everlasting covenant with the Fathers – Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
